EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in product management or product ownership roles, preferably in data-driven organizations or technology companies.
  • Strong understanding of data management concepts, including data modeling, ETL processes, data warehousing, and data analytics.
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, JIRA) for product development and project management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex business requirements into technical specifications and vice versa.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and data querying languages (e.g., SQL) preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements Management

  • Gather, prioritize, and document business requirements for data products, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Translate the data product strategy into actionable tasks and work with cross-functional agile teams to execute those requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define clear and actionable requirements, including user stories and acceptance criteria

  • Collaborate with business leaders to identify opportunities where data products can drive efficiency, revenue growth, or cost savings

Responsibilities:

Product Vision and Strategy

  • Define and communicate the long-term vision and strategic direction for data products.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities for product innovation.

Requirements Management

  • Gather, prioritize, and document business requirements for data products, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Translate the data product strategy into actionable tasks and work with cross-functional agile teams to execute those requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define clear and actionable requirements, including user stories and acceptance criteria.

Stakeholder Collaboration

Product Development

  • Lead Agile development processes, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and sprint review sessions.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality data products that meet stakeholder expectations.
  • Promotes data products to internal and external stakeholders, showcasing their value and capabilities.
  • Engage with data marketplace platforms to facilitate the exchange of data products within the organization or with external partners.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure Technical BA’s define and implement robust testing strategies and acceptance criteria to ensure the quality and reliability of data products.
  • Ensure BA’s conduct thorough testing and validation of data products to identify and address any issues or defects.

Performance Monitoring

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor the performance and usage of data products.
  • Analyze performance data and user feedback to identify opportunities for optimization and enhancement.

Risk Management

  • Identify potential risks and issues related to data product development and deployment, proactively mitigating risks.
  • Escalate critical issues to leadership and collaborate with stakeholders to develop appropriate risk mitigation strategies.

Change Management

  • Develop and execute change management plans to facilitate the adoption and integration of data products within the organization.

Stakeholder Interaction

  • Engage with key stakeholders, contributing to discussions with business executives, IT leadership, and external partners to understand business needs and communicate concepts effectively.

Compliance and Governance

  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations, industry standards, and internal policies throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Implement robust data security and governance measures to protect sensitive information and mitigate risks.
