ABOUT YOU

We are looking for the right person, with a good attitude who will be a solid team fit with the following skills and experiences: -

  • Proven experience working in Data Governance and strong understanding of Data Privacy concepts.
  • Prior experience of working as Product Owner including understanding customer needs and driving product development.
  • Familiarity with data discovery and classification tools highly desirable.
  • Experienced in formulating data protection strategies.
  • Experience working with JIRA, Confluence and Service Now
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to build deep relationships, drive collaboration across teams, and influence others is highly desirable
  • Proficiency in managing and organizing data effectively.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management and engagement.
  • Relevant industry or specialist qualifications.
  • Exposure to Tableau or other BI tools desirable but not mandatory
  • Prior experience in operating capabilities or products requiring organisational change management.

Responsibilities:

As a Product Owner for Data Protect Platform you will be a key contributor and play a crucial role in developing, delivering, and executing the strategic goals for our emerging data discovery and classification capability. This role involves enabling automated data scanning, classification, and reporting across IAG’s data sources (both on-premises and cloud-based), while adhering to IAG’s data governance framework and policies. The primary focus of this capability is unstructured data, with the potential for expanded scope in the future.
You will have experience in managing third-party vendors to achieve a desired outcome and navigating internal processes to achieve shared goals. As a product owner, you will be customer focused, and results driven with your role and able to work collaboratively with our people, customers, and partners. For your role to make a difference, you will support the entire product lifecycle, assuring system and platform availability whilst applying productivity and efficiency initiatives and driving innovation through continuous improvement.
This is a full time, permanent role that is open to people based anywhere ideally Melbourne and Sydney
This role offers flexible working conditions that support a mix of working from home and being in the office.
