We are seeking a Product Owner to lead the development of revamping the VillageWeb Portal by providing a new look and feel to key tools and content, ultimately improving user experience and employee satisfaction. This role will also support the Village Communications team in implementing Viva Amplify to transform how internal messaging is handled over web, mobile and email.
This position requires expertise in requirement analysis, user research, user interaction, and building web portals in SharePoint. The candidate must also have strong knowledge in identifying the key connection points in integrating two or more systems and providing requirements to help these systems interact flawlessly within their ecosystem.
The primary focus of the Product Owner will be to gather requirements by interacting with Business Stakeholders and Analysts, Designers, Technical Product Managers and IT to collaborate on User Experience, business processes, and product development to deliver the highest business value, while also being the voice of the end user and understanding technical feasibility.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Digital Design, Interaction Design, Information Architecture, Design and Strategy, or other relevant degree, as well as > 4 years of experience with SharePoint, customer portals, communication platforms, and/or employee experience tools.

Responsibilities:

Define and deliver a product vision that meets enterprise goals and core user needs and that is flexible enough to evolve over time with the company

  • Be the primary Product Owner / subject matter expert for this product
  • Supports the evaluation of current state operations in partnership with the other business and IT teams to create a shared understanding
  • Understand user workflows, needs, and point points
  • Understand stakeholder goals and regulatory requirements
  • Own user research, requirements collection, prioritization processes, governance processes, and design standards development
  • Own the product vision; Stay up to date on design thinking and product strategy
  • Be the product champion and keep stakeholders, user representatives, and delivery teams within the program informed and aligned on product features; drive cross-functional collaboration across multiple programs and teams
  • Set vision of future state and develops product features and user stories for development (business requirements)
  • Partners with IT delivery teams on a very frequent if not daily basis by providing clarifications necessary to assist with user story estimates, sequencing of new features and moving the product design forward
  • Works with designers to ensure a great user experience while supporting overall program design
  • Coordinates user demonstration sessions and obtains feedback on product release updates
  • Obtains user feedback on product functionality via interviews, user group meetings, surveys, site visits, business process analyses, and workflow review
