JOB SUMMARY

DWP Infrastructure Services (Networks) is responsible for managing a range of Network Services, Products and Projects.
Working in collaboration with a range of internal/external partners, stakeholders and customer you will be responsible for ensuring best practices are adhered to across the department and supporting teams on how to deliver quality, modern Infrastructure solutions, ensuring the operational stability, availability and quality of DWP Networks.
As you’ll see from the Essential Criteria within the Person Specification, we are looking for a Product Owner - Networks, who is enthusiastic with aptitude and interest in digital, the technical requirements you can learn on the job through structured learning and collaborating with experienced, highly knowledgeable colleagues.

NB - it would also be desirable to have the following skills or experience:

  • A working understanding of Network infrastructures and technologies.
  • Experience of Delivery / Project Management.
  • Working knowledge of IT Service Management tools and dashboards eg - Service Now, Splunk, Dynatrace.
  • ITIL Qualification or equivalent.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Working to the Senior Product Owner you will be an intrinsic part of the Management team working with other Network Services Product Owners as well as the engineering leads, principal Network engineers and suppliers. As a Product Owner - Networks, you will:

  • Apply different skills and techniques to methods in analysing and resolving problems, working up new practices and procedures or modify existing processes to improve performance.
  • Maintain influential, positive, productive relationships across Network Services stakeholders.
  • Provide reports of Service performance to the Senior Infrastructure Management and other senior leadership members from Digital, reporting against agreed Key Performance Indicators and via the relevant reporting channels and forums.
  • Manage the Continual Service Improvement Plans.
  • Take ownership of service/solution Key Performance Indicators, ensuring performance against best practice.
  • Record incidents, problems and changes raised by users including resolution actions.
  • Create and maintain documentation to support services/solutions used by the organisation, this will include managing suppliers and maintaining information on a 3rd party services.
  • Manage risks, issues and dependencies, ensuring appropriate reporting and mitigation plans and actions are implemented.
  • Effectively manage personal and team capability, performance and wellbeing.
