JOB DESCRIPTION

Pepkor Speciality, a division of Pepkor Trading, is seeking a highly motivated Product Planner to join our team. You’ll play a key role in developing and implementing business plans that drive success for our Brand’s Ladieswear merchandise strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance/Commerce/Accounting/Statistics/Cost and Management Accounting

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ Years of product planning experience within relevant retail environment
  • Knowledge of stock control and distribution
  • Knowledge of the retail merchandise cycle with regards to Buying
  • Advanced knowledge of G-Suite, Excel and the MS office Packages
  • Knowledge of seasonal and non-seasonal replenishments
  • Excellent Planning and Organizing skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies aligned with business objectives, considering factors such as inflation and profit margins.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize product assortment, inventory levels, and financial performance.
  • Create and manage sales budgets based on historical data, market trends, and business goals.
  • Conduct in-depth sales performance analyses to identify opportunities for growth and risk mitigation.
  • Prepare and present financial reports on a monthly basis.
  • Oversee and mentor a team of Store Planners and Trainees to achieve performance goals.
  • Foster strong relationships with suppliers and retail stores.
  • Collaborate with buying and design teams to optimize product selection based on market trends and customer demand.
  • Conduct post-season analyses to inform future product decisions.
  • Optimize inventory levels to balance stock availability and markdown risks.
  • Proactively manage Open-to-Buy (OTB) to ensure financial targets are met.
