We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join the product planning team in Raahe. The main responsibilities of a Product Planning Engineer include creating and maintaining manufacturing instructions and product ranges in accordance with standards and customer specifications. The role also involves continuous development of steel grades, monitoring test rejections, overseeing costs, and utilizing dynamic simulation tools. In this position you will co-operate closely with sales, production and technical development organizations. You will also have a wide view of steel technology and business.

About the program and position
The European Graduate Program is designed to attract and develop newly graduated talent to ensure SSAB’s future critical competencies. Over 14 months, you will participate in workshops and lectures that provide in-depth knowledge of SSAB’s operations, leadership practices, and a wide network of professional contacts.
The program includes visits to SSAB’s production sites in Finland and Sweden, as well as an individual trip to a business location of particular interest. Throughout the program, you will be paired with a senior mentor who offers personalized guidance and support. The program concludes with a final presentation to SSAB’s management team, where you will share your learnings and experiences.
Main responsibilities
Investigating manufacturing possibilities and requirements related to various customer specifications
Responding to production deviation inquiries
Improving the performance of grades already in the production program
Managing the dimensional ranges to be manufactured
About You
Master degree in Material, Process or Mechanical Engineering or another relevant field, and ideally have an understanding of metallurgical processes
Graduated within the past 24 months
Excellent English skills and solid knowledge of Finnish
Be analytical, the knowledge and use of statistical analysis methods (such as Six Sigma, Minitab) is beneficial for the role.
