JOB DESCRIPTION

Maternity leave replacement, maximum term employment agreement of 12 months.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Quality and Food Safety Director, the Quality Officer will be based in Switzerland and collaborate closely with the Quality Team. This role is integral to ensuring product and customer quality excellence, supporting the team on a variety of quality management initiatives, and driving continuous improvement across processes.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Quality, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • At least one year of experience in quality management, document management, or the food/feed/chemical industry.
  • Experience in analytical chemistry, including laboratory analysis and knowledge of GC and HPLC, is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in utilizing software tools and MS Office applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret regulations is a plus.
  • Highly autonomous, meticulous, and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of curiosity and teamwork.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and international environment with a readiness to adapt to change.
  • Demonstrates a proactive, goal-oriented, and customer-focused approach.
  • Fluent in English; French is a plus

Responsibilities:

Product Quality:

  • Oversee the supplier and raw materials approval process, ensuring rigorous follow-up, documentation, and decision-making in coordination with the Product Quality Manager.
  • Maintain and update the approved supplier/raw materials list, including conducting risk analyses for non-assured sources and supporting supplier audit planning.
  • Define product specifications and develop control plans for new products or formula modifications.
  • Conduct hazard analyses of raw materials to assess chemical, physical, microbiological, and fraud risks, and implement actions to mitigate identified risks.
  • Design and monitor annual control plans, organize review meetings, and establish internal limits for parameters not covered by legislation.
  • Manage specification sheets, including their creation and updates.
  • Create and update Certificate of Analysis templates using dedicated software tools.
  • Serve as a backup for the Quality Control Manager, performing analyses such as FTIR, moisture content, GC-FID, and HPLC.
  • Approve finished products and issue Certificates of Analysis.
  • Support and monitor production transfers to other regions.
  • Handle registration requests, including defining specifications, preparing composition sheets, and issuing product quality-related certifications and statements.
  • Lead or participate in projects related to Product Quality.

Customer Quality:

  • Develop and update Safety Data Sheets using specialized software.
  • Prepare and maintain certificates of composition.
  • Create and manage standard and customized labels.
  • Draft and update product-specific statements (e.g., GMO compliance, undesirable substances).
  • Complete customer quality questionnaires with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Manage and resolve customer complaints promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborate closely with the Product Registration Team to address specific customer requests.
  • Contribute to projects aimed at enhancing Customer Quality.
