Mō te tūranga | About the Role
As a product remediation analyst, you will play a crucial role in the remediation projects ensuring compliance of financial products. You will leverage your analytical skills and technical expertise to drive end-to-end delivery in a complex environment.
- Conduct comprehensive data analysis and remediation using Power BI - Advanced DAX, SAS, SQL, Python and Excel.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met.
- Utilize Jira and Confluence for project tracking and documentation.
- Provide hands-on remediation analysis and support the delivery of high-quality outcomes.
- The Remediation Analyst role will have a crucial role supporting remediation workstreams . The role provides designing and building detailed data model to understand impacted customers, apply compensation methodology and support across the team to effectively close all remediation workstreams.
- In this role you will own the complete data journey of a remediation, from quantifying the impacted customers, determining the amount, calculating compensation to the producing of weekly payment files until the final payment is made and the workstream is completely closed in our system.
- You will conduct thorough tests/ validations on your methodology prior to an execution of a remediation and need to have deep focus on automation and continuous improvement.
- Review Remediation Designs and Calculation models against agreed solutions.

- Leveraging your experience with big data, explore and delve into the exciting realm of Westpac’s data warehouse - minimum 5-10 years of analytics experience is required.
- You are a master in Python, SQL and SAS, VBA, PowerBI - advanced DAX.
- Experience with Jira and Confluence.
- Produce required reports/ Peer Review documents to demonstrate compliance and accuracy.
- Identify and report variances and quality issues and risks.
- Possess good understanding of the Banking products or services.
- The specific programmes and focus of the role may shift over time depending on the resource and priority requirements.
