Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Product Specialist, Electronics candidate will prospect and proactively interact with potential and existing customers through emails, telephone calls, live website chats and in-person meetings to persuade them to approve, purchase and install Winters’ new and existing electronics product offering. The qualified individual would be capable of assessing customer needs, recommending products, closing sales and maintaining sales pipelines (in conjunction with Regional Sales Managers). The PSE should have a strong technical capability to understand the role of electronic instruments (pressure and temperature transmitters, switches and sensors) and their mechanical counter-parts in the industrial process and commercial markets, and how these products are applied. Furthermore, the successful candidate will be required to provide both pre and post-sales support throughout the selection and installation process of electronic field instruments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A self-starter with a passion and drive to succeed
  • A technical / engineering college or university education
  • 3-5 years of sales or technical experience with electronic field instruments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent organizational and communications skills
  • Independent and able to work well in a team environment
  • Perform well in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multitask
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and comfortable presenting to large groups
  • Must be fluent in English, second language e.g., French or Spanish, would be an asset

Responsibilities:

  • Provide pre and post sales and technical support of Winters electronics offering
  • Work in conjunction with the North American sales organization to identify new customers, applications and industry pursuits (with North America being the main focus)
  • Contact new and existing customers for the purpose of promoting and selling Winters line of electronic instruments (pressure and temperature transmitters, switches and sensors)
  • Work on product specifications and technical requirements such that Winters is approved with EPCs, End Users and Machine Builders
  • Identify product gaps for future new product development initiatives
  • Report on market trends, new regulatory requirements and competitor positions
  • Contribute to the Winters CRM tool (opportunity and funnel management)
  • Provide weekly and monthly activity & management reporting
  • Cooperate and interact with all Winters divisions
  • This position will require 25% travel, mainly in North America
