KEY CHALLENGES:

Strategic and Operational Management

  • Create an inclusive, high-performing environment to support decision-making and leadership.
  • Establish and track metrics to assess and adjust portfolio strategy progress.
  • Lead the Commercial Excellence function in support of Product Strategy teams.
  • Engage with senior internal and external stakeholders to position Roche as a trusted partner in healthcare sustainability.
  • Conduct market research, strategic analytics, and business planning to support global product strategies.
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of annual and long-range business plans.
  • Oversee training and development programs to optimize performance across functions.
  • Manage demand planning and develop sales and marketing strategies to achieve business objectives.

Financial Management

  • Develop the department budget by identifying activities and costs, preparing the budget and submitting it annually and as required.
  • Manage expenditures by tracking spending against budget allocations, approving expenditures, addressing any budget variances and provide feedback monthly and as required.

Stakeholder Engagement, Management & Development

  • Engage with identified stakeholders to identify trends.
  • Look at and consider business opportunities.

  • Therapeutic area experts in all disease areas
  • Funders / Managed Health Organisation
  • Data platform experts

Governance

  • Participate in Board and Sub-Committees by preparing reports, presenting reports, answering queries and implementing decisions.
  • Manage the development and implementation of policies and procedures by reviewing policies, identifying policy gaps, drafting policies and managing the implementation of policies.
  • Monitor compliance with policies and procedures, identify areas of non compliance, address non-compliance and track improvements.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes by reviewing the landscape, identifying changes, analyzing and interpreting the impact of the changes, integrating the changes into the policies and procedures and communicating these changes.

Staff Management and Leadership

  • Ensure team members have the necessary mindsets, knowledge, skills, and capabilities for success; inspire vision and strategy while fostering trust and engagement for triple win outcomes.
  • Coach the team towards high performance by setting ambitious targets, building trustful relationships, encouraging open feedback, supporting development, and addressing performance issues.
  • Track team capacity, define staff requirements, allocate workload, recruit and appoint staff, and promote networked working.
  • Onboard new staff with a comprehensive program; support their development through coaching, mentoring, and regular performance monitoring.
