Job Description
At Teledyne Gas Measurement Instruments, we’re on the lookout for a Technical Support Engineer who is not only passionate about delivering outstanding service but also brings a solid technical foundation, particularly in gas detection. This role is ideal for someone eager to become a trusted advisor to our customers, offering expert support on our range of gas instruments.
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver top-tier technical support through phone, email, and other channels.
- Efficiently diagnose and resolve customer issues, ensuring a high satisfaction level.
- Work collaboratively across teams to streamline customer issue resolution.
- Accurately document interactions and maintain detailed customer records.
- Conduct on-site customer training, with travel up to 30%.
- Audit authorized Teledyne GMI Service Centers to uphold our standards.
- Provide comprehensive training on product usage, maintenance, and servicing.
- Take on additional responsibilities as directed by management.
What We’re Looking For:
- A degree in Engineering/Electronics or equivalent.
- Extensive experience working in gas detection or electronic instrumentation.
- Demonstrated ability in supporting software applications and understanding engineering processes.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Previous experience in customer support roles.
- Willingness to travel internationally and domestically, with up to 30% travel.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
- High proficiency in IT, especially Microsoft Excel and Adobe InDesign.
- Flexibility to occasionally work late afternoons to support American customers.
