About the Role:
Weyerhaeuser Engineering plays a critical role supporting the specification and application of Weyerhaeuser engineered wood products. Our engineering team is an innovative group that fosters diverse thinking and problem solving.
As an engineer with Weyerhaeuser, you will be involved in the specification of Trus Joist and Weyerhaeuser products; engineering and software analysis of Trus Joist brand engineered wood products; providing field support to builders and framers; and training of sales and marketing associates.
Weyerhaeuser is looking for an engineer who is a creative self-starter that enjoys a wide variety of opportunities. The successful candidate should thrive on problem solving, using diverse thinking, and networking with colleagues on solutions. We seek a team player with strong interpersonal skills.
This role reports to our Senior Engineering Manager and is based in Langley, BC. This position will require some travel as dictated by assignments.

Key Functions:

  • Actively participate in a safety-driven workplace culture
  • Work independently or under the supervision of engineers:
  • Answer customer inquiries on Weyerhaeuser products and residential construction
  • Trus Joist product specification (dealers, specifiers, architects, engineers, etc.)
  • Resolving field issues
  • Provide software analysis of Trus Joist and Weyerhaeuser premium products
  • Provide engineering support to specifiers (engineer of record, architects, dealers, building officials, etc.)
  • Conduct customer training using a variety of platforms/media

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution required
  • P. Eng. registration in British Columbia or Alberta
  • 3+ years of experience in Civil, Structural Engineering or related field
  • Working knowledge of Canadian Building Codes and CSA O86
  • Critical and creative thinker
  • Highly motivated and organized individual who excels in a dynamic team environment
  • Goal-oriented attention to detail and deadlines
  • Willingness to safely participate in a results-based culture
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Desire to be an exceptional speaker/presenter
  • Functional knowledge of AutoCAD or related drafting software

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $94,200 - $137,400 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 10% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.
