Description:

Founded in 1923 as a family-owned single plant operation, Ontario Die International (ODI) has developed into the world’s leading manufacturer of quality cutting dies for the automotive industry. Today ODI serves industries around the globe, with facilities in Canada, the United States, Mexico and the Czech Republic. Our Kitchener Corporate Headquarters and R&D Centre oversees global administrative functions, and houses an Engineering team that develops advanced software, automation, and vision systems to serve both our manufacturing facilities and our customers worldwide.
The Production Administrator will report to the local production supervisor and join a team of 8 to 10
people. The group produces cutting dies for customers across Canada and the United States and
also supports engineers and other office staff in Kitchener.

Responsibilities of the position include:

  • Assist in pricing and provide quotes to customers
  • Create and analyze basic 2D CAD files used for quoting and production
  • Assist in production scheduling, procurement activities, prepare shipping documentation
  • Act as a liaison between engineering and production staff to support R&D
  • Create sales orders and monitor progress of orders to ensure deadlines are met

The skills required for the position are:

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) for interacting with customers, engineering, and production staff
  • General computer knowledge and ability to learn basic CAD skills
  • Ability to operate automated equipment
  • Work well in a group
  • Responsible, punctual and overall positive attitude
