JOB DESCRIPTION

Based in Hemel Hempstead (Old Town), we are entering into an exciting phase of growth and need to strengthen our busy team. This specific role is to support our Production and Product Development team. We are a passionate and driven team and need someone with a positive, energetic attitude, who wants to learn about our products and vision.
Please note: you MUST be local to the Hemel Hempstead area and happy with an in-person working schedule. This is not a remote or hybrid role. A cover letter outlining why you are a good fit for this role is appreciated.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

1. Degree or equivalent in relevant science discipline (e.g., Chemistry, Food science, etc).
2. Numeracy skills essential.
3. Food lab skills are essential.
4. Well-developed interpersonal skills. Relationship building, facilitation, written / verbal communication skills are essential.
5. Accomplished IT Skills using Microsoft suite of programs are essential.
6. Knowledge around product scale up
7. Understanding of food microbiology

1. HACCP

1. FDA regulations
2. An understanding of food and label compliance

   Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
   Pay: £23,000.00-£27,000.00 per year

· Helping plan and perform experiments on food products and botanical extractions in the lab.
· Go to the brewery (locally based) 1-2 weeks a month to help with production.
· Pick and prepare stock for upcoming production batches.
· Receive ingredients back into stock
· Keep stock database up to date
· Enjoys working with food products and tasting new things
· Is familiar with the scientific method, can follow experimental procedure, take meticulous notes and present their data.
· Has an understanding of the responsibilities of food safety procedures.
· Happy to learn new skills and get involved as work focuses shift and urgent matters arise.
· Physical capability to manually handle ingredients when necessary.
· Flexibility to work in the office/lab most of the time but also go up to brewery/bottler as needed.
· Able to drive, prepared to drive the company van
· Food science / chemistry knowledge desirable, particularly concerning dispersion/emulsions.
