Our Production team is looking for a dependable Production Assistant Manager teammate to support the coordination of the Production Department. The Operations Assistant Manager control and coordinate the overall operations of the Production Department ensuring ensure the efficient operation of the department contributing to the accuracy and fulfillment of customer orders.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Min 3 years’ previous leadership experience is required.
- Food Safe Level 1 (Islands West to Provide).
- Hepatitis A Vaccination (Islands West to Provide).
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written (English).
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products, mainly excel.
- Basic proficiency with Warehouse Management System (SBT)
- Demonstrated ability to manage, direct and train 30-50 staff.
- Ability to safely bend, twist and lift to 50 lbs. on a consistent basis.
- Ability to work in a refrigerated environment.
- Maintains valid level one first aid ticket.
- Maintains forklift and pallet jack certification. (Islands West to Provide)
Responsibilities:
- Manages and support Production employees include producing high-quality fresh-cut fruits and vegetables for local foodservice and retail markets; use of dicers, cutters, slicers, and packaging equipment.
- Help manage all functions of quality control, sanitation, and stock rotation.
- Develop and maintain an effective department, of 30-50 employees, through ongoing recruitment, training (including completion of training documentation), and the assignment of personnel (Manage staffing levels to accommodate required work levels (approve and organize overtime if required).
- Guide and provide leadership to the team to ensure daily, weekly, and monthly goals are achieved.
- Performs team meetings with employees to review objectives, service levels, quality concerns, productivity, and allocation of duties.

- Regularly review the progress of work in department to ensure that staff are supported, questions have been answered, decisions acted upon, and problems solved.
- Coordinate with Supervisors for the daily planning and execution of Warehouse operations across multiple shifts.
- Attends as directed, all training meetings and/or professional development sessions.
- Take directions from the Production Manager and keep them informed of department activities on an on-going basis.
- Operate or perform other duties as directed by the Production Manager.
