PRODUCTION CONTROL ASSISTANT MANAGER

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a key member of the Production Control team and under the leadership of the Production Control Manager, the Production Control Assistant Manager is responsible to ensure the product(s) is in compliance with customer standards and production goals and targets are met. The Production Control Assistant Manager is responsible for assigning and evaluating work, training, and reviewing staff performance and ensuring delivery and shipment schedules are adhered to.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years related experience as a supervisor/manager in a manufacturing environment and/or demonstrated work experience/internal training/testing
  • Understanding and experience with ISO 9001 and ISO/TS 16949 certification systems
  • Understanding an experience with deliveries and shipments within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong team building and team leadership with experience in a supervisory position
  • Strong presentation, written, and verbal skills
  • APICS certification considered an asset
  • SAP knowledge & experience considered an asset
  • Licensed for forklift operation preferred
  • Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and email

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise daily operations of the production control staff
  • Ensure compliance of productions schedules
  • Manage and prioritizes all production processes and implement production plans
  • Manage inventory appropriately for each material to be used, provide forecasts to each material suppier, and grasp the timing of orders to avoid production stoppages due to material shortages
  • Analyze staffing requirements and ensure efficient compliance to production schedules and budget for production processes
  • Manage full cycle delivery and shipment schedules
  • Supervises production scheduling including production board updates, production plan schedule, communication board updates
  • Assist in hiring production control employees, integrates new hires, coordinates production staff
  • Evaluate production control employee performance
  • Comply to regulatory and employment concerns
  • Ensure the safety of the workforce
  • Take ownership of customer issues and follows up with “customer is right” attitude
  • Help to administer an employee oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance
  • Ensure that team members are treated with respect and encourage an atmosphere of openness and fairness at all times
  • Handle disciplinary issues as they occur and recommend remedial actions to Human Resources
  • Communicates company programs and practices and communicates to team in a timely manner
  • Assists with identifying performance gaps and takes action to improve through remedial training, self-development or otherwise
  • Enhances company performance by motivating all team members and championing company activities such as reward and recognition programs to build teamwork and cohesiveness
  • Takes direction comfortably, able to multi-task, managing time efficiently to obtain optimum results
