About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Coordinator – Fabrication to join our Hunter Class Frigate Program based at SA-Osborne Naval Shipyard, reporting to the Fabrication Manager.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight.
The Production Coordinator is primarily accountable to safely coordinate and deliver a key phase of work during the Shipbuilding lifecycle of the Hunter Class Frigates. This role requires coordination and leadership of a cross-functional team ensuring that safety, quality, cost and schedule for Ship construction meets program goals and deliverables.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Fabrication Manager in delivering projects/and outputs within a manufacturing environment, in accordance with the developed plan
- Organising activities and tasks for specific projects and ensure all activities associated with the manufacture, production and assembly/ installation of components are completed in accordance with safety, design, quality and customer requirements
- Coordination and de-confliction of production activities in accordance with the Fabrication Plan of Day
- Facilitation of production issue resolution, to ensure that hold-ups to schedule are minimised
- Review performance analysis and perform root cause analysis in collaboration with the performance team
- Ensure effective communication is maintained with the Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Advisors
About YOU
- Bachelor’s degree in suitable engineering or proven equivalent trade discipline or relevant experience
- Demonstrated mechanical/structural technical experience in a Shipbuilding and/or heavy engineering environment
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal to communicate effectively across multiple levels of the business
- Ability to balance conflicting priorities to deliver against customer and business requirements, with appropriate stakeholder management
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management (desired)
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
