Description:

REQUIREMENTS

  • Have a solid operations background with 5+ years experience in operations or production background.
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Have 2 - 4 years previous experience directing the work of a team.
  • Have the experience or be able to quickly learn the working knowledge of the Canadian Postal processes.
  • Have excellent organizational and customer service skills.
  • Be willing to handle and lift items weighing up to 50 lbs with extended periods of standing.
  • Be able to recognize need for change and influence teams to adjust quickly to workload/specific tasks .
  • Be able to have flexible work hours and occasional overtime to meet client deadlines.
  • Be will to participate in training sessions, meetings and cross-train in all areas of the operation.
  • Be able to serve as the main contact for daily operations and specialize in specific business processes. Work closely with the business unit manager and other CSS leaders as needed.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Production Coordinator oversees workflow and production for one or more processes. They maintain service, quality, and workplace safety, managing resources and upholding metrics. Additionally, they engage in hands-on work alongside team members.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and improve overall production operations.
  • Serving as the expert for all equipment and processes associated with the core functions of service areas.
  • Coordinating the flow of work and availability of people and equipment across the unit.
  • Interacting professionally with internal customers, vendors, and CSS team members regarding processes, best practices, problems, etc.
  • Motivating team members to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Influencing the team to utilize materials and equipment efficiently.
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of process documentation, job aids, and training to deliver consistent quality.
  • Understanding of the processes and equipment to improve the flow of work through the unit.
  • Performing the same or similar functions as other members of the team for a significant percentage of the time.
