Description:

We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for an Production Engineer (Late shift) within our Production team to help support our Aerospace business. At L&P Aerospace, we specialize in creating complex tube and duct assemblies using high-performance materials capable of withstanding extreme pressure, temperature, and chemical interactions. How high are our quality standards, you ask? So much so, that we have products on-board the Space Launch System with NASA, as well as the F-15 and F-35 fighter jets! If you join our team, your work will ensure families across the world fly a little safer, wherever their travels may take them.
You will be a member of the production engineering department and will report directly to the Lead Production Engineer. The Production Engineer will work on developing continuous improvement projects to increase efficiency in the current manufacturing process whilst supporting day-to-day operations to meet business targets.

EDUCATION:

Degree in an engineering/science discipline or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectation.

Responsibilities:

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support business non-conformance process with rework feasibility and instructions.
  • Works on implementing new manufacturing improvements to the business.
  • Supports production by maintaining and updating manufacturing works order instructions, ensuring repeatable configuration of product is maintained.
  • Works and manages business engineering design changes by managing work in progress and updating works order documentation for first article fair inspection.
  • Supports the business in improving tooling control and optimization.
  • Develop, document and optimize new and existing manufacturing process such as creation/amendment of SOP (standard operating procedures)
  • Provide MRB (Material Review Board) support to existing products to ensure process deviation are reviewed and answered for
  • Analyze rework trends to drive continuous improvement actions to reduce rework and scrap rate.
  • Supporting the business with RCCA/RPS (rapid problem solving) activities for existing product/processes.
  • Support in creating Department KPI’s to highlight potential trends to the business.
  • Always Be compliant with the business Health and Safety protocols.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
