Description:

Sienci Labs Inc. is a leading manufacturer of CNC routers designed to make automated manufacturing more accessible. We create and design a line of CNC machines, tooling, software, and hardware accessories to unleash one’s creativity for both personal projects and small-scale production.
Production Engineers are responsible for ensuring the smooth production of our machines and products by coming up with solutions to improve quality, speed of manufacturing, and customer satisfaction.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience with quality control (ex. conducting quality checks, root-cause analysis, data collection, FMEA)
  • Experience with process improvement (ex. time studies, analyzing bottlenecks, value-added processes)
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical failure modes (ex. deflection, fracture, corrosion, short circuit, solder joint failure)
  • Ability to read engineering mechanical drawings and use CAD
  • Strong communication skills to instruct, collaborate and present to others, both verbally and in writing
  • Knowledge of common manufacturing methods, such as laser cutting, sheet metal work, metal extruding, 3D printing, machining
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, document and optimize quality control, packing and assembly procedures
  • Produce jigs and other tools to improve assembly speed and consistency
  • Conduct quality checks on incoming parts from suppliers and in-house manufactured parts
  • Collaborate with customer service staff to address ongoing quality issues
  • Communicate with the engineering team on quality standards, tolerances and testing processes
  • Investigate and report manufacturing defects to the engineering team, providing resolutions when possible
  • Conduct operations tasks when required, from interacting with customers, arranging shipments, sending out packages, and keeping track of inventory
