Description:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Engineer Bachelor’s degree (Industrial or similar).
- Strong Lean tools background and demonstrated experience supervising and increasing departmental effectiveness.
- Effective oral and written communication skills requirement along with ability to prioritize and schedule work to maintain production and delivery deadlines.
- Must have analytical problem-solving skills to provide workable and efficient solutions for the factory environment

Responsibilities:
Manage departmental effectiveness and achieve production objectives through efficient utilization of assigned personnel, materials and equipment per Engineering Standards.
Communicate expectations/results/actions to departmental associates and support department leaders. Facilitate understanding and acceptance of expectations to same individuals by daily/weekly/monthly meetings, cross training, and continuous communication using graphics, reports and visual aids. Must be able to fully understand the derivation of production rates and process parameters and convey appropriately to others as needed.
Responsible to ensure that hour by hour standard worksheets are being maintained and utilized to ensure production attainment or make recommendations to Engineering group to modify the rates per the attainable result because of cycle time studies and takt time analysis.
Provide leadership and direction for all Union associates assigned to the department to comply with and/or improve the objectives and plans of safety, quality, and production.Perform periodic performance evaluations as prescribed to assure all associates are fulfilling desired expectations in line with Engineering Standards.
Continually monitor and recommendtraining requirements necessary to comply with Engineering Standards with the support of the Training personnel for existing and newly hired employees.
Work with appropriate personnel to ensure that the preventive maintenance programs to the equipment are being followed or recommend improvements, as necessary.
With the Support team create and implement improvements designed to address the issue at root cause.
Works with Human Resources department on issues related to Union Associates.
Maintains records on personnel issues like attendance, vacation rosters, etc.
Control raw materials and consumables utilized in the production process per Engineering Standards.
Participate with other departments to develop/update PFMEA’s, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, and Auditor sampling plans for manufacturing area assigned.
Participate and leadership problem solving using scientific method.
Participate with support team and continuous improvement in workshop VSM, SMED to improve area results.
In case of absences the position can be cover by Production Supervisor, Production Superintendent or Manufacturing Manager.
