Description:

SUMMARY
The individual in this position will be required to fully understand the purpose and operation of the Tote Room and the packaging area along with the ability to make decisions based on sound judgment when a situation dictates. It is imperative the person(s) conduct themselves in a manner that ensures alertness and constant awareness of the safe operation of equipment and its surroundings. The individual in this position will accomplish these tasks by utilizing a team concept through working with team members and following direction and instructions from the Shift Packaging Supervisor or the Shift Manager. Work relationships and communication skills are key to the success of the individual holding this position. Overtime requirements in this position are common and may be required to meet operational goals.

Responsibilities:
- Must complete paperwork and data entry in a timely and efficient manner. Paperwork must be thorough and legible.
- Monitors line flow conditions, including frozen waste, retail product, food safety issues, and safety hazards. Communicates problems and/or changes to appropriate personnel in packaging, QA, process, and supervision.
- Responsible for monitoring length and making necessary grading screen changes and/or adjustments.
- Controls blending of bulk product to ensure a continuous level of line flow, to reduce bulk inventory and meet quality specifications.
- Must be able to complete major and minor adjustments on all tote room and grading deck equipment and maintain equipment in a manner conducive to efficient operating conditions.
- Performs all major clean-up responsibilities and procedures.
- Performs all functions of re-work duties, assists in out-of-grade and machine breakdown situations.
- Must be able to navigate, read, understand, and enter data, in Manufacturing Management Suite [MMS] and various Distributed Control Systems [DCS].
- Ensures no injury to self or others by following safe work practices and policies.
- Ensures the interface with team members and other support groups is conducted in a participative management style conducive with operational goals.
- Ensures attendance and participation in training activities appropriate to the position and to incorporate acquired skills and knowledge.
- Ensures self-compliance with Company policies and procedures.
- Conducts oneself in a professional manner and ensures appearance meets the standards necessary to represent the company while performing the job function.
- Ensures that additional accountabilities, as may be required by management, be handled in a manner necessary to meet operational and divisional standards.
