Description:

The Production Line Worker is a valuable part of our production team, ensuring our production targets are met in a timely fashion, while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality.
As a member of the Production Line team, you will perform work in a team-based setting, operating various equipment and/or performing tasks that contribute to the production of high-quality produce. In this role you will work with minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement.

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:

AM: Monday to Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
PM: Monday to Friday 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to safely bend, twist and lift up to 50 lbs. on a consistent basis.
  • Ability to walk and stand for the duration of scheduled shift.
  • Ability to learn and apply knife skills.
  • Ability to work in a refrigerated environment.
  • Hepatitis A Vaccination (Islands West will provide).
  • Must have valid work authorization in Canada.
  • As this role is onsite, you must currently reside in Victoria, BC

Responsibilities:

  • Work with a team to manufacture high-quality fresh fruit & vegetable items for the foodservice and retail markets.
  • Learn to use dicers, cutters, slicers, shredders, and packaging equipment.
  • Help ensure that the quality and freshness of produce is always maintained throughout the department.
  • Employees must follow company policy regarding the production of food items and the proper use of equipment. Including
  • Preparation of all production products including processing mixes, cut sizes and equipment needed.
  • Clean and sanitize production areas between product switch overs and at shift end.
  • Equipment safety.
  • Critical Control Points of bleach and sulphites.
  • Must understand and work within all HACCP policies and procedures.
  • Operate or perform other duties as directed by the Production Manager/Assistant Manager/Supervisor.
