Description:
JOB SUMMARY:
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Production Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations and scheduling of our chocolate manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient production workflows, uphold food safety standards, and promote a collaborative team environment. Additionally, the Production Manager will focus on continuous process improvements and cost reduction to help drive operational success.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience in food manufacturing, with experience in chocolate production being a strong advantage.
- Deep understanding of food safety regulations and experience working with QA teams.
- Mechanically inclined, with the ability to assist in maintaining and troubleshooting production machinery.
- Track record of improving workflows and driving efficiencies in a production environment.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with a focus on building a collaborative, team-oriented atmosphere.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and experience managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Familiarity with costing processes and managing financial aspects of production operations.

Responsibilities:
- Production Oversight: Lead and manage daily production operations, ensuring timely completion of production schedules while maintaining quality standards.
- Inventory Coordination: Work closely with procurement teams to ensure all materials and ingredients are available for smooth production flow.
- Food Safety Compliance: Partner with the QA department to maintain rigorous food safety standards and ensure compliance with both regulatory and company requirements.
- Maintenance Support: Use mechanical knowledge to assist with troubleshooting and maintaining production equipment, reducing downtime and increasing operational efficiency.
- Process Improvement: Proactively identify and implement improvements to workflows and production processes, enhancing efficiency and reducing costs.
- Team Leadership: Foster a collaborative, high-performing team atmosphere by providing training, motivation, and guidance to team members.
- Communication & Problem Solving: Act as a key point of contact between departments, addressing challenges and providing timely, effective solutions while encouraging a safe work environment.
- Good understanding: GMP, HACCP, GFSI and Canadian food inspection agency.
- Cost Management: Understand and manage production costs, ensuring that operations align with budgetary and financial goals.
- Chocolate Manufacturing Expertise (Preferred): Utilize prior experience in chocolate production to streamline operations and implement best practices.
