We are looking for a Production Manager to join our team who shares our vision and will bring with them a passion for creating high quality content.
Reporting to: Producer
Purpose: Why you’re here at Brown Bag Films
To ensure that all the aspects of the production are executed in a timely manner, of high quality and in accordance with the schedule by managing and supporting the crew and facilitating collaboration between departments by ‘running the floor’.

Delivery: What you produce

  • Micro-schedules
  • Managed solutions to problems arising
  • Weekly reports for all stakeholders

Measurements: How we measure it

  • Ontime delivery of production milestones and schedule
  • Efficient production workflow
  • Feedback from Producer, Director and 360 feedback from direct reports and supervisors
  • Team development, sustainability and engagement

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Requirements for the role: Things that help you do your job (what is essential and what is desirable)

Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of production schedule management; project management techniques.
  • In-depth understanding of animation production pipeline and workflow.
  • Proactive in improving current practice.

Experience

  • Extensive and broad experience in managing / coordinating a minimum of 2 serialized animation productions.
  • Strong experience in managing scheduling and leading teams across multiple departments.
  • Experience in working with client, vendors, and WGC & ACTRA, desirable.
  • Experience in interacting with crew and internal stakeholders.

Technical Skills

  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Office, in particular Excel, Outlook, Calendar, Acrobat, and Final Draft.
  • Ability to use asset tracking software e.g. Autodesk’s Shotgun, Excel.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities: What you are regularly responsible for doing

  • Ensuring timely communication with all stakeholders and crew members on the production status, current priorities and deadlines, and facilitating cross-departmental communication
  • Taking day-to-day ownership of the production schedule, prioritising tasks and managing workflow, relationships and communication and managing all deliveries and notes
  • Running effective production meetings in order to optimise clear communication of production deadlines and progress and undertaking follow up
  • Managing all aspects of production by leading the scheduling, tracking, reporting and troubleshooting of the production process through the management of the crew. Immediately flagging issues to the producer and proactively identifying production bottle necks and other inefficiencies.
  • Setting and managing the schedule with the overseas partner studio ensuring awareness of deadlines, and timely shipments and deliveries when applicable.
  • Managing direct reports and their work to deliver on schedule.

o Promoting department morale and motivation
o Conducting regular one on ones with direct reports and submitting performance reviews.

o Mentoring junior members of the production team, when required.

  • Supervising the coordination of Directors’ time to achieve on-time task deliveries, reviews and approvals.
  • Assisting in creating and implementing wrap procedures, mid and post mortems.
  • Proactively reporting to Producer on the status of the production, identifying potential issues and proposed solutions (with the assistance of appropriate supervisors), and generating status reports
  • Coordinating with IT & TD regarding technical needs of the production
  • Assisting in maintaining crew and credit lists, undertaking Award Submissions and updating IMDB when needed.
  • Alongside the Producer, developing and nurturing the relationship with the Client.
  • Supporting the Producer in assignment and management of third-party contractors (scripts, records, music, post etc.)
  • Assisting marketing department in sourcing marketing materials
