Description:
The Production Manager is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient operations of our Ready-Mix production plants and the Millwright team within the Great Vancouver region. The position will lead all plant, millwright and yard staff using state of the art concrete batch plant software with advanced monitoring and measuring control systems.
This position will oversee employee performance and completion of directed assignments, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and maintaining all plants in good working order using strong planning and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Promoting BURNCO’s safety culture and ensuring a safe and clean working environment.
- Managing/optimizing concrete batch plant production, maintenance and raw materials.
- Ensure concrete is batched to required specifications.
- Ensure all raw materials are ordered in a timely fashion and ensure all inventories are at manageable levels.
- Completing production plans by scheduling, assigning personnel and accomplishing work results.
- Maintains quality of production by enforcing organizational quality control standards.
- Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process and looking for improvement opportunities.
- Management of the production team – including hiring, appraising, training and disciplining when necessary.
- Staff the Shop with welders and servicemen, to repair equipment in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Schedule staff on a shift basis to optimize utilization of equipment when required for production.
- Motivating staff to ensure high levels of production.
- Maximizing asset utilization incorporating lean and continuous improvement practices.
- Ensure that all repair documentation confirms to the NSC rules and regulations.
- Identify, analyze and solve problems to minimize production issues, bottlenecks & cost overruns.
- Evaluating new technologies and equipment to improve production and reduce operating costs.
