Description:

As the Production Manager- chemical products, this role oversees the day to day running of the Chemical Products department and ongoing business strategy within the respective areas.
In this role you will be responsible for managing a team of 9 and have roughly circa 55 indirect reports. You will plan, direct and monitor all production activities within assigned area(s) to maximise the use of business resources and meet established overall production KPIs, including volume, cost, safety and quality measures. Operations are of mid-high level complexity (e.g. multiple shifts/lines/products). Works independently, within operational plans and policies; gives work instructions to and plans work for others.

Your responsibilities:

  • Responsible for EHS performance of department and adherence to group KPIs.
  • Accountable for COMAH and regulatory compliance in department (ISO14001, IS45001)
  • Ensure production area and production operators have the necessary manpower, competence, knowledge and training to safely achieve production targets.
  • Ensuring repetitive quality failures are investigated and corrective actions completed
  • Accountable for developing and delivering training plans and competence matrix
  • Achieving production KPIs including RFT, OTIF, Schedule Adherence and OEE.

Requirements for the role:

  • Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or equivalent science-based subject or demonstrate equivalent experience/knowledge
  • High level of numeracy, working with systems and data, SPC control, statistical understanding would be advantageous
  • Good understanding of general EHS management principles and some knowledge of Process Safety
  • Engaging and inspiring leadership skills
  • Ability to make timely strong and decisions, sometimes under intense time pressure
  • Experience of implementing talent and workforce planning strategies, organisation design would be highly desirable
