PROFILE SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the primary purpose of the Production Manager is the execution of daily production plan in the aircraft manufacturing and assembly operations. Directly accountable to manage, coach and lead resources to meet production plan as well as takt time, including managing priorities, employee performance and behavior. Accountable for execution of Manufacturing Operation System (MOS) including daily floor meetings, resources management, Work order (WO) completion, ensure all employees are trained and follow safety policies, quality procedures and housekeeping (5S). The Production Manager is a key member of the management team who works closely with the Operations Director, Production Personnel and all support staff to ensure aircraft completion is achieved on time and budget.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
- 5 + years of manufacturing management and supervisory experience
- Provide leadership, direction, mentorship and on the job training to production employees while creating a positive work environment
- Previous manufacturing management experience
- Lean manufacturing or project management is considered an asset
- Superior planning and trouble shooting skills
- Experience in facilitating meetings, training, etc.

Responsibilities:
- Execution of Manufacturing Operation System principles by assigning / setting up daily expectation by area and employees (target vs. actual) confirm expectations have been met on daily basis
- Implement and maintain visual standard work in the production flow line
- Measure and report on daily basis activities performed by stage (target vs. actual)
- Define and set safety standards and expectations to ensure all employees follow safety policies; participate in hazard risk assessments as well as safety policies and legislation
- Anticipate and react to potential production interruptions and aid in recovery to minimize production loss
- Perform incident investigations within timelines specified by the safety policy
- Coach / provide feedback as necessary to improve production and quality levels of all employees
- Confirm that all employees follow approved documentation as per “Quality Management System (QMS)” as well as proper completion of paperwork
- Lead, implement, ensure and manage time attendance policy
- Engage, propose and lead implementation of “ideas / improvements” on the production shop floor
- Accountable for leading and managing employee’s performance and behavior
- Confirm that all employees are trained and capable to perform their duties
- Perform any other related project or task as required
