SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Production Manager will be responsible for safety, quality, production and personnel issues for ePac’s production team (lamination, slitting, and pouching) through direction and coordination of people and duties.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES.

  • Strong project management skills; highly organized and capable of effective, efficient multi-tasking and time management.
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills and must be able to effectively present information to others.
  • Flexible Packaging experience a must. Preferably pouching or lamination experience.
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively in generating solutions.
  • Ability to rapidly process and comprehend large amounts of detailed information and to consider the implications and consequences of new facts and make decisions.
  • Proficient computer skills to include MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Associates degree (A.A.) in or equivalent in management from two-year college or technical school in management. Five to ten years of manufacturing experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicates daily with staff and manager(s) to discuss any issues/concerns. Serves as a liaison between hourly production personnel and management
  • Motivates and retains critical personnel to meet and exceed internal company goals and counsels subordinates about work related issues and assists them to correct job skill deficiencies
  • Assists Director of Operations and/or Production Planning staff with developing and distributing machine schedules
  • Participates in hiring and disciplinary actions with assistance and approval of manager and human resources
  • Runs production calculations for needed materials and ingredients for recipes
  • Devises optimal schedule for product(s) to be completed and necessary labor
  • Packages, labels, stores product and prepares for sale as needed.
  • Manages documentation of recipes; improves upon recipe quality and efficiencies
  • Responsible for inventory management
  • Purchases inventory (ingredients and packaging) for fulfillment
  • Manages daily operations to meet production requirements in lamination, slitting and pouching
  • Monitors the daily manufacturing process and tracks key process and product quality data
  • Responsible for making sure all safety and security protocols are followed; Observes operators to ensure that they conform to production and safety standards
  • Manages overall raw material inventory to meet production schedule
  • Tracks material usage and cost by product.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As part of the ePac team, this role will have responsibilities above and beyond what has been outlined. Because of the start up nature of our organization, you may be asked to support other departments that compliment your experience and skill set.
