Description:

JOB SUMMARY

The Production Manager is responsible for the day to day running of the Assembly area (Make and Pack Core Process) Hot and Cold Kitchens and the Food Stores. To have oversight of all relevant purchasing - material costs and stock control. In this role, the Production Manager will support and deliver Gate Opex standards with regard to compliance and adherence to Health and Food Safety standards in line with company and local government policies. They will lead and enable the team to deliver and sustain customer growth and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

EDUCATION

  • Degree educated preferred and/or relevant equivalent work experience at a similar level.
  • Professional qualification in operations/logistics preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience of operational management experience in a similar environment
  • Proven experience of managing teams within a manufacturing, airline catering or production process.
  • Previous experience of managing stock control
  • Previous experience of working with budgets and KPI’s
  • Understanding of health and safety, food hygiene, security regulations (DTLR)
  • Culinary experience desirable

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Level 3 HACCP certification
  • Level 3 Food Safety certification
  • Level 3 Workplace Health & Safety / NEBOSH Certification or commitment to complete
  • Computer literate and able to work with MS Office and IT Systems

Responsibilities:

  • Financial accountability and meeting budgetary targets (for example, labour, material, CapEx, OpEx). Meet customer KPI’s and deliver excellent service standards.
  • To facilitate the team leader meetings ensuring that issues arising are managed, followed up and communicated to the appropriate people.
  • Resolve conflict/provide solutions by exercising high levels of influencing, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Be a role model for the company values.
  • Maintain legal/compliance across health and safety, food safety, Department for Transport (DfT), security, gateOPEX (in-house operational excellence programme).
  • Spot check flights for completion against specification and ensure problems are rectified.
  • Monitor and control activities against budget, ensure maximum efficiencies are achieved to improve on budgetary targets.
  • Define systems of working to ensure quality of product, service to the customer and team progression/development.
