PRODUCTION MANAGER:

Intramotev is seeking a motivated Production Manager to join the leadership team to manage growing demands for the production of several variants of self-propelled rail vehicles. This role will be instrumental in designing and building the team and operations required to safely deliver integrated products on-schedule and within budget. The successful candidate will be cognizant in leading operational design and implementation, manufacturing and industrial systems engineering, electrical and mechanical modifications and assembly, quality assurance, and factory acceptance testing. This role requires strong communication skills and cross-functional collaboration to lead in prioritizing projects and resources. The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels. This position will be based out of St. Louis, MO.

Position Responsibilities

  • Design and implement our factory for the future to meet growing customer demands; planning and directing an efficient layout of equipment, operations, and flow of materials
  • Develop and build a successful production operations team ensuring that the necessary staff, competence, skill, knowledge, and tooling are available to deliver production targets. Manage team performance and development.
  • Direct and coordinate the activities to plan, manage, and control production schedules, in conjunction with Material Requirements Planning and Production Control, to meet production/delivery requirements
  • Maintain stock inventory control and communicate levels to management, purchase inventory items and interface with vendors
  • Manage daily operations of mechanical and electrical manufacturing and assembly, integration, and test procedures to support new production, modification, and integration
  • Schedule and prioritize constrained resources and adjust staffing and capacity planning to meet flow and customer requirements
  • Oversee the status of work in process, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are available, as needed
  • Monitor and improve shop floor safety, eliminate any unsafe operations, and ensure a safe and clean environment
  • Participate in efforts and activities involving first-time manufacturing builds, including the establishment of workspace, process flow, and personnel responsibilities
  • Define production processes and standard work procedures, and ensure proper training and adherence
  • Define and manage production metrics to optimize safety, quality, efficiency, delivery, and cost
  • Ensure that equipment and machinery are maintained and calibrated in accordance with preventative maintenance schedules and requirements
  • Collaboratively define and lead application of Safety Certifications, Quality Assurance, and Factory Acceptance Testing
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for manufacturing during varied audits by customers and regulatory bodies

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Science, or relevant field
  • Extensive hands-on experience in production/manufacturing operations
  • Good understanding of production processes and optimization
  • Strong leadership abilities
  • Excellent project management skills
  • U.S. Person (immigration or work visa sponsorship will not be provided)
  • Fluent in both written and verbal English

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

Candidate should have a working knowledge of one or (ideally) multiple areas listed below:

  • Experience working in the railroad industry and with associated equipment and operational certifications
  • Experience in application of LEAN/OPD principles to optimize operational design
  • Experience with ISO9001, OSHA, and applicable auditable processes

Typical Education and Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor and/or Master) and typically 10 or more years’ related work experience.
