The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a metal fabrication and assembly shop. This role involves managing two shop managers and ensuring efficient production processes, quality control, and timely delivery of products.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement production plans and strategies to meet business objectives.
  • Team Management: Lead and supervise two shop managers, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations.
  • Production Oversight: Monitor and coordinate all production activities, including fabrication, assembly, and quality control.
  • Resource Allocation: Optimize the allocation of resources (equipment, materials, and personnel) to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Quality Control: Establish and maintain quality standards, ensuring that all products meet customer specifications.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels and ensure timely procurement of materials.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and policies, promoting a safe working environment.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Work closely with customers to understand their needs and ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit regular reports on production performance, including metrics such as output, quality, and cost.
