We’re looking for a passionate, creative, Production officer with a wealth of experience in social media management, events, comms and engagement strategy, website management and multimedia creation to join our small but powerful team.
Working with the Production Manager, your role will be to take ownership and responsibility for the building and implementing of the social media and comms Strategy for Horizons & Proud2bOps – engaging new and existing audiences to support recruitment, reputation building and general engagement. As part of this role, you will have the chance to work with number of exciting partners who will help us to deliver on our ambitions around social media, digital marketing and brand.
Digital content and social media will be your ultimate interest – your engagement will translate into truly impactful and influential content. We’re looking for a creative wizard with a fantastic eye for detail and excellent copywriting skills.

Contract type: 12-month fixed term contract (with possibility of extension)
The Production Officer will work across our social media channels to enhance how Horizons connects and communicates with its audiences (as well as reaching new ones), working across teams to help Horizons become more strategic in its approach.
The ideal candidate will be a skilled storyteller with excellent written skills, highly organized, creative and proactive in their approach, with a proven ability to co-ordinate activity across the different streams of work within the Horizons team.
Along with a passion for content creation, social media and communications, you’ll bring to this role knowledge and experience of managing social media channels (including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, LinkedIn and X (Twitter) and an understanding of how to optimise these channels to achieve our business objectives.
Horizons (hosted by ML) exists to improve the effectiveness and sustainability of large-scale change initiatives across the health and care system in England. We do this by working in partnership with local, system-level, regional and national teams, and organisations. We focus our efforts on complex challenges that span traditional organisational boundaries and involve sectors across the health and care landscape.
Horizons’ expertise and experience in large scale change and system interventions spans but is not limited to leadership development, organisational development, networks, and rapid insight. The mechanisms we use include, convening spaces and communities (virtually and face to face) for sense-making enabling learning that can inform the co-design and implementation of large-scale change and enable opportunity to create, test, and share innovative approaches that release creative thinking for effective change. Bespoke strategic design and facilitation to focus the work on developing shared purpose, combining frameworks, models, and approaches to be most effective. Connecting the system to more of itself, building relationships, and shared understanding to sustain change. Gathering insights from the emerging evidence enabling us to learn with our partners in real-time, uncovering new resources and knowledge.
The Production Officer will play a crucial role in creating and implementing our social media, comms and engagement strategy across all of our streams of work. This role requires creativity, energy and production skills from design, content creation, editing videos, creating podcasts, internal and external communications and live social media coverage of our events.

It is the role and responsibility of everyone in the Horizons team (including the post holder) to develop and be involved with the core work of the team. This includes:

  • An understanding of large-scale change and transformation methods, scale and spread, crowdsourcing methodology, accelerated design events
  • Business development and income generation with both internally and with external clients to ensure a sustainable business model and expand the expertise of the team
  • Support for staff wellbeing and flexible ways of working enabling all colleagues to perform at their best
  • Developing a strong personal profile within the team and externally via social media platforms to reach a wider audience
  • Assist patients/clients during incidental contact.
