POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Mix Plant Supervisor, the Production Operator is responsible for working in different spots within the mix plant each day. Their main objective is to ensure effective and efficient operations in batching, material storage, and material movement. They must adhere to safety and food safety policies while supporting the Supply Chain’s goal of delivering customer orders on time, in full, and in compliance with quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up equipment as per the setup sheet and operate PLC controls.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and resolve setup issues to minimize downtime.
  • Track and record all downtime, collaborating with the maintenance crew to reduce downtime.
  • Follow the schedule and ensure orders are shipped on time and in full.
  • Pay high attention to detail while reading production orders, item numbers, and manufacturing formulae.
  • Constantly monitor equipment to ensure proper operation and notify the coordinator or mechanic if necessary.
  • Weigh and measure ingredients accurately into pouches/bags, following standard procedures.
  • Load pallets with finished products and move skids to the staging area.
  • Identify problems and attempt to correct them; escalate issues to the coordinator when necessary.
  • Enter production information into the designated system, Dax, promptly.
  • Verify your own work, including materials, weights, packaging, labels, and pallet patterns.
  • Communicate effectively with the previous and next shifts to ensure a smooth handoff for continuous production.
  • Follow safety procedures throughout the day and at the end of each shift.
  • Seek ways to improve processes, work environment, and participate in the Supply Chain One Kaizen A Month program.
  • Understand and adhere to security, HACCP, GMP, and BRC policies and procedures.
  • Prioritize health and safety as the first concern in daily operations.
  • Comply with the company’s Food Safety Policy and ensure adherence to all food safety requirements.
  • Operate a forklift or other required equipment as necessary.
  • Assist in other departmental functions and perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Should be able to scoop repetitively.
  • Operates forklift, low rider etc.
  • Use of HMI.
  • Use ERP to issue package, or batch raw materials.
