Description:
PRODUCTION OPERATOR
Black Cat Wear Parts is a family-oriented, entrepreneurial spirited organization that believes “fundamentally everyone comes to work to do a good job.” It is with that in mind that our Edmonton, AB facility is currently seeking Production Operators who are safety conscious and have a strong work ethic to join our manufacturing team.
NOTE: Black Cat has the potential to run its operation 7 days a week and therefore candidates must have a flexible schedule in order to be considered.
Black Cat currently has 4 production positions available in the following departments:
· Heat Treat: 8-hour afternoon (3pm-11pm) shift (x1)
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
· High School Diploma
· Experience working in a manufacturing or shop environment (1 year min)
· Basic math skills with the ability to read a tape measure
· Safety & Quality conscious
· Proven reliability and punctuality
· Willingness to learn & motivated to succeed
· Team oriented
· Strong communicator
QUALIFICATIONS THAT MAY BE CONSIDERED AN ASSET:
· Operation of forklifts and overhead cranes
· Understanding of blueprints, geometric tolerances and metallurgy
· Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement
Responsibilities:
· Accountable for ensuring the proper handling, care and processing of customer products
· Comply with all safety rules, regulations and procedures
- Operate machines according to programs and in conjunction with work orders
· Verify work orders and conduct first-off inspections
· Ensure the safe and efficient use of the work area and all equipment
· Comply with all applicable ISO procedures to produce quality work and identify non-conforming product
· Maintain a high degree of organization and attention to detail
· Ability to communicate respectfully and professionally with all levels within the shop and office
· Ability to complete work carefully and on-time
· Inspect and clean work area daily
· Assist in other areas of the shop as directed
