Description:

JOB SUMMARY

Our client leader in the manufacturing company is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Plant Manager to oversee and optimize their production planning processes.
Pay Range - 60K- 90K
Location - Woodbridge, ON

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management or other related field
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Planning and Scheduling experience
  • Strong understanding of production processes, MRP and scheduling.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical, reporting skills and problem solving skills
  • Ability to lead and manage a team of production planners, and coordinate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of products
  • In-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience in production planning
  • Ability to develop structured modules

Responsibilities:

  • Review material requirement’s planning (MRP) daily, create and release jobs
  • Issue all work orders per production schedule and create and release rework as required
  • Direct oversight over all Production Scheduling activities and staff
  • Ensure integrity of data entry
  • Prepare reports for management regarding scheduling activities, and monthly
  • schedule analysis, and variance
  • Review of raw materials stock to verify re-inspection procedures.
  • Estimate materials and labor required for production
  • Compile worksheets and specifications of orders
  • Prepare and maintain progress and other reports
  • Oversee and ensure execution of the Production Schedule
  • Review long-term forecasts to identify and mitigate possible capacity/material issues and recommend appropriate action.
  • Ensure that work orders are completed in a timely fashion, within budget
  • Oversee cycle count activities to ensure proper counts are conducted and the inventory is accurate.
  • Review demand and supply to understand bottlenecks and propose alternative capacity or areas needing capacity improvement to meet demand.
  • Constantly look for improvements and help implement solutions.
  • Recommend components to stock to support a pull system for products and to reduce lead- times.
  • Perform ongoing analysis of weekly, monthly, and future capacity to optimize product level loading and achieve manufacturing continuity during low and high-volume months.
  • Regularly interface with the relevant team to maintain accurate and updated information
  • Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records/reports to determine production requirements and evaluate current production estimates and outputs
