PRODUCTION PROCESS AND NEW PROJECTS ENGINEER
Nordell Ltd is one of the UK’s leading privately owned plastics manufacturing and design refinement companies. We are looking for an experienced Production Process and New Projects Engineer, to support our manufacturing site based in Worthing, West Sussex.
As a business we have been entrusted with the manufacture of critical components for some of the world’s most successful companies for over 50 years.
We have a team of 100 employees working across our 24-hour 5 day a week shifts.

SKILLS
- Be degree educated in an engineering related discipline or hold a recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrates a good level of understanding and application of process engineering principles, concepts, practices and standards
- Ability to plan, prioritise and effectively manage time, meet deadlines be able to adapt to changing priorities and urgencies as they arise and produce quality deliverables
- Must be able to work to very fine tolerances and be able to read engineering drawings
- Have experience of Technical Sales and Commercial awareness
- ERP Experience
- Good knowledge of various polymers and how to process them
- Ability to analyse mould flow
- Be self-motivated with the ability to cope with change within a busy working environment
- Good communication skills required to perform a detailed verbal hand over and update the board with live information and any issues
- Be up to date with changes in technology
- Strong character, an influencer with a positive attitude to motivate others
Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Technical Director, you will provide production and process engineering for continuous development, provide new and existing project engineering from the design to production, liaise with the company’s operations and service teams, supply chain, and project clients, ensuring that new projects are delivered on time and to budget as well as providing support to existing projects.
MAIN DUTIES
- Customer and supplier interaction
- Product and process development
- UK – Nordell Xiamen (China) liaison
- Quotations – Tooling and Moulding, project quotes
- Tool design support / evaluation / refinement / comment
- Polymer selection / refinement
- Mould flow interpretation and comment
- Projects Communications (timelines etc.): Suppliers and Customers
- Moulded part evaluation
- Handover information to Production and Assembly
- Information pack creation
- ERP part information population
- Bill of material construction
- Actively participate in company, product & process improvement activities
- To carry out any other reasonable tasks as may be requested from time to time by the Technical Director
