Summary:
Tetra Tech/RPS Energy is seeking to hire a production/reservoir engineer to support increasing project demands. Positions are in the Core Consulting Group at Tetra Tech/RPS Energy, specifically within Technical Advisory, located in the Calgary office. The team’s primary responsibility is to provide detailed reservoir and production engineering, including reserves evaluations, field development plans, enhanced recovery, reservoir simulations, integrated production models, completions and stimulation advisory, and M&A advisory. The team is also responsible for providing new and innovative solutions to our clients’ needs by proposing advanced techniques for data analysis. Problems are usually solved by use of combination of standard procedures, or methods developed in previous assignments, where an individual generally assists in carrying out technical tasks requiring accuracy in calculations, completeness of data, and adherence to prescribed interpretation analysis, design, or methods.

Your Role:

  • Provide reservoir engineering expertise to the regional asset teams
  • Provide support for evaluation requests from other business units/teams including exploration, new ventures and commercial
  • Complete reservoir performance analysis, including waterfloods and EOR
  • Generate production performance reviews by area and formation
  • Compile production data and well information for reservoir simulation studies
  • Assist simulation engineers in the development of dynamic models, reserves evaluations and history matching
  • Assist well design & completion engineers with materials sourcing and specification, well designs, and facilities planning, and decline curve analysis
  • Perform field development planning
  • Production enhancement and field revitalization

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Post-secondary degree in Engineering is required.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience for Jr. Engineer / EIT
  • Experience with NI 51-101, PRMS, SEC regulations
  • Industry specific training and accreditation, i.e. First Aid, WHMIS, etc.
  • Registered with APEGA (or eligible for registration)
  • Proficiency in the English language commensurate with the work
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.) applications and Adobe software
  • Competent with different types of industry software (ValNav, Petroleum Experts, Eclipse, GeoScout, etc.)
