Description:

We are looking for a proactive Production Supervisor to join our team on a 12-month contract. In this role, you will lead and direct operations personnel to meet production schedules, ensuring the manufacturing and packaging processes run smoothly and efficiently.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three years of supervisory experience in the pharmaceutical industry, specifically in tablet compression and coating, or a related degree in a science field.
  • Experience managing unionized employees is a plus.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and knowledge of GMP and WHMIS regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Experience in validation processes is an asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Assign daily duties to operators and assist in planning production schedules and staffing requirements.
  • Troubleshoot production issues to minimize downtime and maintain efficiency.
  • Provide training to operators on safety, equipment handling, Standard Operating Procedures, and company policies.
  • Inspect machinery for cleanliness, safety, and proper setup before production begins.
  • Maintain housekeeping and sanitation standards within the production area.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to increase efficiency.
  • Collaborate with peers, subordinates, and other departments to achieve common goals.
  • Review and suggest improvements for manufacturing and packaging documentation.
  • Approve labor reports and manage employee overtime submissions.
  • Monitor equipment and facilities, issuing work orders for necessary maintenance and ensuring timely completion of repairs.
  • Participate in employee evaluations and disciplinary actions.
  • Manage inventory of tablet tooling, spare parts, and materials.
  • Ensure all ingredients are present according to the manufacturing formula before production starts.
  • Escalate any issues during production with recommendations for solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and Health & Safety Policies.
