We are looking for a dynamic Production Supervisor, 3rd shift, for our 51st Street production facility. This role is a key member of our 30+ member production team. You’ll work side-by-side with the team to ensure the production process is flowing smoothly to meet our goals and ensure food safety and product quality standards are met. We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate leadership while functioning as a hands-on, team player.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment with three (3) to five (5) years of experience with direct employee supervision
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently, exercise initiative, resourcefulness, and good judgement.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Flexible and comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite of Products: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, Outlook
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects on time is essential.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency, preferred.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk up to 100% of the time, work in a freezer, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Time Management & Organizational Skills

  • Monitor production rates, flow, and integrate changes as needed.
  • Accurate management of all temporary and full-time associate scheduling and timekeeping
  • Ensure the completion of all required production paperwork, records, documentation, such as time cards, quality records, etc.
  • Guarantee all production lines are appropriately staged for current and future runs
  • Ensure all necessary production efforts are communicated to appropriate department

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership

  • Coach, motivate, mentor and develop staff through training of HACCP, GMPs, Safety, Quality and other company procedures.
  • Create KPI goals for production team and ensure they are consistently met
  • Enforce plant and company safety programs, promoting and maintaining a high level of awareness and adherence to defined employee safety requirements such as lock-out/tag-out, personal protective equipment, etc.
  • Support, demonstrate and promote Miller Baking Co.’s core values: Teamwork, Integrity, Courage & Curiosity
  • Assure proper staffing levels with regards to skills and headcount.

Process Improvement

  • Build and assess Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Continually review current strategies, systems, performance, capabilities, equipment, facilities, and employees for opportunities to optimize safety, flow, service, quality, and profitability.

Troubleshooting

  • Monitor the equipment performance in production process (i.e., freezer, packaging machinery, etc) to ensure that equipment is functioning efficiently and is properly cleaned and sanitized. Arrange for timely repair/resolution of equipment failures.
  • Provide technical recommendations for continuous improvement
