Position: Production Supervisor (Cheese Shreds)
Shift: Afternoon Shift: : 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 3 years of demonstrated success in a manufacturing capacity. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in managing a safety culture, high speed packaging, food manufacturing, GMP, HACCP.
- Basic Knowledge in food manufacturing processes. Demonstrated ability to support large-scale change activities.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
- Leadership and conflict management.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and work well within a team environment.

Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE:
This position will be based in Brantford, Canada. The position will be part of a team of Supervisors responsible for the site. Overall responsibility for current and future manufacturing performance of Cheese Shreds. Direct responsibility for all Hourly Production Employees, and all hourly employees on off-shifts. Additionally, the Supervisor will work on continuous improvement projects both individually and on teams
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Managing manufacturing activities during the designated shift by leading and motivating shift employees in all areas including safety, quality, efficiency and cost. Accountable for general supervisory coverage for all shifts. Includes schedule coordination, labour / crewing, safety, quality, site security, and behavioral management.
- Protection of employee’s health and safety by meeting legislative requirements, providing instruction regarding safety procedures and ensuring compliance of all regulatory and plant safety rules.
- Develops plans and activities to meet plant and PDP targets, which include but are not limited to, 3+1 targets, functional responsibilities and other projects that are established for cost reduction, yield improvements and efficiency gains.
- Accountable for the productivity of the site during off-shifts. Includes provision of some technical expertise, contacting appropriate resources for issue resolution, providing alternative duties in the event of breakdown or material shortage, monitoring general performance and behaviour of employees, and adjusting crewing or call in replacements as necessary.
- Provide leadership and support to WCM mission and ensure that objectives are met and returns on investment are evident.
- Facilitate required training programs to employees.
- Regularly cascades/communicates Site targets and goals from the Leadership Team to shift crews, consistently and accurately.
- Support quality and food safety programs
- Driving the Continuous Improvement agenda using TPM as the operating framework.
- Managing employee relations.
- Managing the operational costs of assigned shift including controlling overtime, absenteeism, and production output among others to ensure a cost competitive operation.
- Managing technologies, processes, and other requirements.
- Individually being responsible for a production site during off hours.
- Other duties as assigned.
