THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a passionate Production Supervisor to coordinate a diverse team of Production based employees. This role will ensure the safe, cost-effective and high quality manufacture of products for Ampcontrol based in Ringwood. The role is responsible for supporting the achievement of production schedules, quality control and manufacturing.

Specifically, it entails:

  • Supervision, training and development of production staff
  • Ensuring the workshop’s machine, material, and human resources are being used efficiently and to schedule.
  • Ensuring Safety and Housekeeping standards are maintained at all times
  • Ensuring accuracy of product design and compliance to relevant standards
  • Reporting on status of released jobs
  • Developing and promoting a continuous improvement focus in the workforce
  • Assisting in succession planning and issue resolution of performance matters
  • Ensuring indirect costs are minimized wherever possible
  • Ensuring timesheets are completed correctly and on time, as well as obtaining approval for any overtime

About you:

  • You will be an excellent communicator, both orally and written
  • You will intuitively know what needs to take priority and what can be deferred, satisfying various stakeholders
  • You will be able to provide solutions for “can do” rather than “why not”
  • You will have an intimate knowledge of Lean principles and be able to drive these through leading Kaizen and 5S activities and will be motivated to maintain a 5S work environment
  • You have an excellent practical ability and mechanical aptitude and are able to demonstrate and pass on this knowledge to colleagues
  • You will be both hands on in supporting colleagues as well as being a reference for direction
  • You will own the production elements of DIFOT and Schedule Adherence
  • You will have significant experience in a manufacturing environment
  • You will have either Engineering or Electrical experience/qualifications
  • You will be competent in Microsoft Office applications
  • You will have experience in the use of CAD packages
  • You will have previous experience managing, setting and reviewing KPIs, for a group of people
  • You will have strong negotiation skills
  • You will be team-oriented
