Description:

Brannon Steel is seeking a motivated and experienced Production Supervisor to lead our manufacturing team at the Brampton facility. The ideal candidate will oversee production operations, ensuring that products are manufactured safely, efficiently, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for mentoring/training production employees, assigning tasks, supervising and coordinating daily production activities. This role also involves ensuring compliance with company policies and standards, identifying and implementing process improvements, communicating between management/production staff, and monitoring production processes.
Starting salary: TBD
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in a production supervisory/leadership role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of production processes, quality control, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required to meet production demands.
  • Proficient in the use of production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities:

  1. Health, Safety, & Environment:
  • Promote a safe workplace by enforcing safety regulations and inspections.
  • Ensure employees follow health, safety, environment protocols.
  • Participate in incident response and reporting.
  • Handle emergencies in a timely manner by following company procedures.
  • Participate in environmental management system programs/policies.
  1. Operations:
  • Use Shop Floor Automation (SFA) software to identify and fix problems.
  • Coordinate and communicate with other Supervisors to minimize downtime in all areas / across all shifts.
  • Issue work instructions for employees as needed.
  • Assume duties of other Supervisors on-shift when they’re away or as instructed by Production Manager.
  1. Team Management:
  • Provide training to new and existing employees.
  • Evaluate employees’ performance and provide feedback.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings at the beginning of each shift to discuss production goals.
  • Address team-related issues / discipline.
  1. Planning & Scheduling:
  • Coordinate production schedules accordingly to meet targets and minimize downtime.
  • Communicate with employees and Supervisors regarding progress of scheduled work and adjust as needed.
  • Identify barriers to scheduled work and address/eliminate.
  1. Quality Control:
  • Ensure parts/plate meet quality standards by monitoring production processes.

  • Assist with conducting quality inspections and reporting quality- related issues to the Quality Department.

  • Address non-conformances (NCR) parts accordingly.

  • Working knowledge of Quality Management System.
  1. Maintenance & Security:
  • Report damaged equipment/machinery to the Maintenance Department in a timely manner.
  • Understand procedures for alarm systems at all buildings.
  • Troubleshoot minor issues within the shop as needed.
  1. Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities to improve production processes and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline operations.
  • Implement process improvements by working alongside Senior Management, Supervisors, and team members.
  1. Administration:
  • Check and answer e-mails throughout shift, communicate via company phone as needed.
  • Adjust employee clock cards in time and attendance software.
  • Handle employee planned absence requests accordingly.
  • Approve and submit trainer premium and back-up Supervisor premium hours.
  • Communicate with incoming/outgoing Supervisors and employees to ensure smooth shift change-over.
