Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains staff by orienting, and training employees safely, developing personal growth opportunities, and collaborate between departments.
  • Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points.
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization quality standards.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by calling for maintenance repairs, evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, responding to questions, and requests.
  • Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing safe operating practices, budgetary and personnel requirements, and implementing change.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures, with continuous involvement in development of good 6S practices.
  • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing information, investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending actions.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS Strong communication, problem solving, organizational and delegation skills, ability to read a tape measure, converting and printing experience is a plus. Skilled & certified to drive forklift. Possess basic computer skills and proficient user of Kiwi/SAP systems. Supervision, Coaching, Managing Processes, Process Improvement, Production Planning, previous supervisor/leadership experience preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS At times occasional lifting / carrying up to 25 pounds required with more frequent lifting/carrying of 1-20 pounds. The job requires reaching below waist and knee, and at waist level, kneeling, squatting, and climbing stairs on rare occasions. More frequent hand/wrist work, keyboarding and mousing, power grasping, and pushing/pulling materials. More frequent walking left and right-hand work and simple grasping and constantly standing on feet for extended periods of time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT Work is performed in both a climate-controlled office and non-climate-controlled environment. Employees must wear protective glasses, hearing protection, and other PPE as assigned by tasks. The plant and warehouse areas can be chilly in the winter (above freezing) and hot in the summer (non-air conditioned). The plant is generally clean of debris and clutter, but the manufacturing process generates a fair amount of corrugated dust.
