Description:

  • Must have food production experience. Seafood experience is preferred.
    REN Seafoods is seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Supervisor to join our team. As a Production Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring production targets are met efficiently and safely.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Direct line leads on production tasks based on daily production schedule.
  • Monitor given room on staff attendance, time clock awareness, daily productivity, etc.
  • Assist with training new hires (including, but not limited to, approving vacation, correcting missed punches, and creating schedules).
  • Understand how to build a production plan and know where to locate the information.
  • Understand how each machine operates and be able to give detailed instructions on how to use each machine.
  • Assists QA with monitoring product quality, styling of product in trays, product flow and other quality control issues.
  • Learn and explain the importance of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Responsible for double checking the leads and the information entered into the machines.
  • Responsible for implementing GMPs and holding the leads accountable for their actions.
  • Responsible for weekly meetings, informing employees of upcoming changes, communicating when goals have been reached and when certain goals need to be worked on.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic Math Skills
  • Be able to stand for 8-10 hours a day in cold and wet environment
  • Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and Safety programs
  • General understanding of Quality Assurance and HACCP
  • Weekend and overtime work as needed

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in processing / production environment. Preferably with fresh and/or frozen food.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to:
  • Exert up to 50 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body
  • Work in a cold and wet food processing and manufacturing environment.
  • Stand for extended periods of time.
