QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Post-Secondary Education in either Science/Business/Engineering or relevant experience is preferred
  • Supervisor/Leadership Courses
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing, food industry environment (or related field) at the supervisory level
  • Solid knowledge of food industry production equipment an asset
  • Experience in sanitation
  • Interact with all internal organizational staff in a supportive and co-operative manner
  • Contact internal departments regarding any discrepancies or further information required to complete assembly

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate department and delegate responsibilities within the department to fulfill specified timelines and maintain schedule requirements of production
  • Ensure that all necessary/related production paperwork completed on time and accurately
  • Ensures plant is compliant with GMP and Standard Operational Procedures
  • Conduct performance reviews for new employees upon completion of probationary periods
  • Develop and utilize cost effective manufacturing standards
  • Ensure conformance to production specifications
  • Instill and motivate morale and team efforts to increase productivity and group cohesion
  • Participate in performance appraisals/disciplinary action of production employees and ensure company policies are followed
  • Provide health and safety and on the job training to employees
  • Project involvement as required for plant H&S, 5S Lean Manufacturing and HACCP initiatives
