SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven operational and manufacturing experience in CPG industry with experience in TPM- Total productive maintenance, 5S, Lean, 6 Sigma tools and concepts.
  • Strong coaching and leadership skills in a team-based environment.
  • Maintain effective communication with all personnel and departments.
  • Being a team player with ability and willingness to learn from working as a hands-on member of a team
  • Effective problem-solving skills, results oriented
  • Able to remain focused while working in stressful situation
  • Able to travel to the United States for training

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Food Science, Business or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably soft drinks.
  • SAP prior experience a strong asset

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshooting downtime and participating in the investigation of root cause analysis
  • Support and participate in regulatory audits as required
  • Continuously seeks ways to improve manufacturing operations results while minimizing waste
  • Manage labor and operations within operating budget
  • Participate and Lead teams to review KPI’s, deciding and implementing corrective measures to eliminate minor stops
  • Responsible for direct supervision and utilization of equipment, materials, and people on the production lines.
  • Adhere to all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies, health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the warehouse or production areas.
  • Responsible to adhere to food quality and food safety as per quality standards and/or Safe Quality Food requirements
  • Front line supervision of plant hourly employees to ensure production criteria is met without compromising quality or employee safety
  • Provide supervision and leadership to maximize plant efficiency and performance.
  • Conduct daily meetings with day and afternoon shift lead hands to identify and resolve issues.
  • Draft and post weekly employee schedules based on production requirements in accordance with the CBA
  • Liaison with the Maintenance Department to ensure, operational deficiencies are rectified in a timely manner
  • Liaison with the Quality Assurance Department to ensure quality is not compromised.
  • Liaison with the Shipping Department to ensure customer service level is maximized.
  • Daily walk through the plant including but not limited to the production area.
  • Ensure production personnel are maintaining good housekeeping practices and end of shift cleanup is conducted daily
  • Provides training and cross training to assure production schedules are met within budget, product specifications, quality requirements and safety standards.
  • Reviews, evaluates, counsels, disciplines and discharges employees as necessary to ensure department meets or exceeds productivity requirements
  • Evaluates and recommends improvements to product manufacturability
  • Back up to the operations Manager as required
