Are you a methodical thinker, with an interest in problem solving in the engineering industry? PETA Ltd are looking to source an exceptional Production Support Engineer Apprentice for our client, Colt. This role involves learning to work with various teams to ensure all products are manufactured in accordance with the customer’s needs and the highest quality standards based at their site in Havant.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

An apprenticeship is all about learning new knowledge, skills and behaviours, therefore, to be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in engineering and a willingness to learn.
To be considered for the role of a Production Support Engineer Apprentice, you will have a keen eye for detail and take pride in completing work to a high-quality level.

YOU WILL ALSO REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • GCSE’s at grade C (4) or above, or equivalents in maths and English
  • IT literate
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • A natural self-starter, taking ownership of your performance
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and teamwork abilities
  • Organisation skills

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Production Support Engineering Apprentice, you will learn to support production with new product introduction, project requirements and continuous improvement.
Reporting into the Engineering team leader. You will learn a variety of working activities that will in turn support the Shop Floor Manager and the Scheduling Manager to ensure that our products are delivered on time to quality, environmental and cost targets.

PRODUCTION AND MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING TASKS:

  • Assist with investigating and implementing design change requests
  • Look for opportunities to improve quality and performance and reduce costs of manufacture of our products
  • Ensure Continuous Improvement techniques are followed
  • Maintenance of machinery, tools and repairs at site
