The production support engineer is the adviser and owner of the product. He/she is the link for engineering with quality and manufacturing in addition of being the main resource for knowledge for others being key support for problem solving related to the product

  • Responsible of the coordination, support and follow up of engineering changes for the manufacturing plant, in coordination with lead plant and other affected plants for the correct documentation, approval and implementation of changes.
  • Guide and support to manufacturing for following up indicators with flexibility to assign and change priorities in addition to supporting continuous improvement of the manufacturing process. Continuous feedback to design and development of the improvements or homologations that help manufacturing maintaining the quality of the product
  • He / She is the expert of the product supporting manufacturing, quality and design ensuring correct product documentation and information archiving. He / she is responsible of not only maintaining but growing the product knowledge during its life through things like support for new design standards, development of products and implementation of engineering changes.
  • Responsible to guarantee through the life of the product that it meets customer specifications, Bosch standards and government regulations. Technical support with customer (OEE/Aftermarket) for warranty investigations, specifications, applications, etc.
  • Support to purchasing on supplier evaluations, clarifications, cost reduction projects (RPP), follow up on tools, etc. Focus on participating on technical discussions with supplier to assure correct interpretation of all documentation that defines the product.
  • Create test plans to validate changes for implementation, assuring product quality, doing part analysis (i.e. tear down) after testing and generating final report for testing.
  • Support for all risk assessments of the product, its design and manufacture to evaluate fit, form and function impacts. Analyze and evaluate risk to ensure correct decision making by the team on all issues and concerns with the product, including deviations in process or design that may arise on components that don’t meet specifications.
  • Since the engineer is the product expert, he/she is responsible of the correct analysis of the product during issues and failures, giving support to the whole team to perform the root cause analysis through a systematic approach (8D, Shainin, etc.) for either a supplier, internal or customer issue.
  • Generate ideas using methods like brain storming, etc. Evaluate the technical and economic feasibility (cost-benefit) of the ideas and be the lead for implementation of feasible ideas using the established Bosch procedures like PEP, etc.
  • Support in the creation of new product technical documentation (i.e. AMEF, DRBFM, SC List, etc.). Maintain and update the product technical documentation during the life of the product.
