Job Description
Tasks
- Your task is to monitor and troubleshoot broadcast systems and network problems and to detect and fix software errors and hardware defects
- As a Production Support Engineer (m/f/d) you’ll be responsible for 1st level support for technical problems in the live and post-production environment of Sky Sport and Sky Sport News
- You’re responsible for troubleshooting and documenting the cause of errors, also in cooperation with internal 2nd and 3rd level support and the support teams of external service providers
- In addition to checking and, if necessary, repairing production equipment, you’ll take care of the installation and configuration of hardware and software for live and post TV production environment
Requirements
- You’ve a successfully completed degree in the field of media technology, IT, or similar qualifications as well as at least 2-4 years of work experience in the media and broadcast production sector
- You’ve a very good knowledge of digital video broadcast technologies and standards - confident handling of Windows and Linux operating systems is required
- You’re also familiar with terms such as SDI, SMPTE 2110, Dante and PTP
- Experience with broadcast level studio automation and vision mixer systems is a plus
- Your ability to work in a team, your hands-on mentality and your ability to work under pressure in a hectic live production environment are what characterizes you
- Working early and late shifts (no night shifts) is no problem for you
- Basic to good knowledge of German is an advantage
- A good command of the English language rounds off your profile
